Big win for the Midwest as Illinois indie THE KILLING OF KENNETH CHAMBERLAIN has brought home the audience and jury prizes for Best Narrative Feature at the prestigious Austin Film Festival.
The feature is based on the true story of the events that led to the death of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr., an elderly African American veteran with bipolar disorder, who was killed during a conflict with police officers who were dispatched to check on him.
Written and directed by David Midell, THE KILLING OF KENNETH CHAMBERLAIN filmed in Lemont, Illinois and features a number of Chicago actors, the most notable being CHICAGO PD star LaRoyce Hawkins, alongside Chicago veterans Tom McElroy, Steve O'Connell, and Kelly Owens. Produced by Enrico Natale and Co-Produced by Keaton Wooden.
